The Adirondacks and Keene, NY

Preserved as “forever wild” — the Adirondack High Peaks region is an oasis of spectacular, untarnished beauty.

Dartbrook Lodge is on the High Peaks Scenic Trail, and Keene lies at the center of the network of hiking trails that lead to the tallest Adirondack peaks, including Mount Marcy, New York’s highest point.

The charming town of Keene includes gorgeous mountain lakes, including Lake Tear of the Clouds, the source of the Hudson River. Streaming through Keene is the Ausable River, with its waterfalls, fern gullies and dense pine forests.

Next door to the Lodge you’ll find the ADK Cafe, serving delicious meals and pastries.

Wander over to the enchanting Dartbrook Rustic Goods to shop for locally-made furniture pieces, carefully selected antiques and vintage treasures in one of the area’s most beautiful stores.

If you love the outdoors, you’ll find hiking, rock climbing, fishing, canoeing, swimming, biking and other seasonal activities close at hand.

Travel 14 miles to nearby Lake Placid and explore the Olympic Center Arena, site of two Olympics. The Olympic ski venue at Whiteface Mountain is 11 miles northwest of Dartbrook Lodge. Mount Van Hoevenberg, the Olympic cross-country skiing, luge and bobsled facility, is 7 miles west.
